Slacker

I've totally been slacking on my work out guys. I can't pinpoint one reason. Amanda visited for the week, so I've been less motivated. Been just wanting to relax, and hang out, but I also think I've had a lot on my mind the past couple of days, on top of being extremely exhausted.

I think I caught up on rest, but I skipped my workout today because I was in an awful mood. Going to make this post just a general update.

Summer is going so slow. I'm for sure going to graduate at least a year early. Met with my advisor and I'm so close I can almost touch it which makes me super pumped. I want to get the heck out of Tallahassee and be closer to the people I care about. I'm considering apply to UF even for a masters program if they have the field of study I want. I'm that desperate to get closer to home.

I've been talking to a lot of people about my possible future career choice too and it just makes me want to get closer to Trenton and start wearing down Lancaster to hire me lol My family is changing a lot too lately. I feel like being here is such an inconvience when things happen and I can't be there to help.

Pray hard for me if you guys can. I'm desperate to leave here. I know it's out of my hands what really happens, but I feel like God gave me the motivation this far for a reason, so why not graduate early?

Day ?

I don't know what day is today...I wanna say it's day 13 second week but my sense of time is horrible lately. Anyway, today was Kenpo. Kenpo is awesome. As always. I'd love to take a kickbox class someday now.

Anyway, I'm feeling completely drained lately. I'm not very sure why. Personally, I feel like I'm not eating enough of one particular food group. Which food group? I don't know. People say carbo load for energy, but lots of carbs would up my fat intake. People have suggested a daily nap. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I know sleep is important, but I really feel like it's a consumption issue.

I try to eat something before every workout, and I definitely eat right after. I've been getting plenty of protein, vegetables, and fruit. Any suggestions?

I think I'm not going to do yoga. I know this is altering the program, but I rather do an extra day of cardio. My hate for yoga is extreme.

Arms and Shoulders

Cardio yesterday was good. I'm not feeling very sore at all now. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Thomas tells me I need to up my weights instead of doing so many reps, than I'd feel the burn. I'm considering it. However there are no weights involved in cardio, which leads me to today.

Shoulders and arms was pretty good. I tried to use my ten pound weights the whole time, but gah! I really have no upper body strength. They tack on this awful ab workout on today's workout too. I tried my hardest. That's all I can say.

It's becoming harder to continue to make healthy eating choices. A week of mainly vegetables and I'm really craving doughnuts and pasta. Any suggestions on how to conquer that habit?

Enjoying my weekend so far. Hope everyone else is too.

Core

Today was Core Synergistics. I'm gonna keep this blog short and sweet because it's so late.

I hate Core. It's really hard for me. It works muscles in your mid-body and i don't know, I guess I don't use those until I need them. Core will make you sweat like crazy. I still hate Yoga more than any of them though. I keep feeling really sick. I may have mentioned in my previous blog that I feel like it's an eating issue. Either I need more food in general for this expenditure, or more of a particular type of food.

Tomorrow is Cardio X. Nothing too hard.

I was really nervous about volunteering tonight. I think I had an anxiety attack. Thankfully, it was a lot better than I was expecting. Thanks for praying.

Spanish at 8am, and then Thomas tomorrow evening. I'm so excited! :)

No Rest on Rest Day?

I did an extra day of cardio today instead of resting. I really doubt my ability to eat healthy so I think I need to incorporate a lot more cardio. I'm a little down about it though. I feel really exhausted. I know it's been a hard first week, but I don't feel like I should feel this tired.

I don't think I need to eat more, but maybe more of something else? Not sure. I've had A LOT of veggies this week, which I'm very proud of. I think I consume a decent amount of protein. I'm not sure about what to do with carbohydrates other than what I eat and not think about. They say to carbo-load for energy right? I feel like I'd get out of control with it though...

Any suggestions?

I'm hoping for a great weekend coming up. Thomas is visiting and I'm super excited. Tomorrow is going to be a really long day. Pray for me if you read this before 6pm Thursday night. I really need it.

Current Playlist

I've been compiling a list of songs for my "summer" playlist. Basically just a bunch of stuff I hear on the radio because I ran out of good music to listen to that I found on my own. I think it really reflects what I like though, so if you can make any recommendations based on bands that may be similar, or other good songs by these artists, I'm all ears.

1.) Billionaire -Travie McCoy

-I love this song. It's so carefree and fun sounding. It's nice to hear a rap song not asking me to perform some sexual act.

2.) Jesse's Girl -Glee Cast
-Awesome song from the start, but I love how much emotion Fin puts into it :D

3.) If It's Love -Train

Train is making such a come back :)

4.) Sky's The Limit -Jason DeRulo

-I originally liked this because I thought my nephew could sing it, I already played it out, but Jason DeRulo is pretty good all around.

5.) The Fixer -Pearl Jam
-Just downloaded this, but Pearl Jam never lets me down.
6.) Mockingbird -Rob Thomas
I think Rob Thomas is pretty high up there on my favorite artist list. I have yet to find a song of his I didn't like.
"I don't wanna love you now if you'll just leave some day. I don't wanna turn around
If you'll just walk away."

7.) Total Eclipse of the Heart -Glee Cast

-Glee takes epic songs, and makes them more epic by making them awesome duets. Love it.

8.) Hard On You -Rob Thomas
-Rob Thomas <3 This song is just cute

9.) Come Back To Me -David Cook

-I vaguely remember liking whatever David Cook's first song was, but I really love the lyrics to this song.
"Oh and I'll let you go, I'll set you free, and when you see what you need to see, when you find you, come back to me. And I hope you find everything that you need. I'll be right here waiting to see you find you, come back to me."

10.) I Never Told You -Colbie Caillat

I like Colbie, but sometimes her stuff is depressing. I appreciate these lyrics though.
"I can't believe I still want you after all the things we've been through. I miss everything about you without you."

11.) I Made It -Kevin Rudolf

-I just like the sound. Classic rap song. I can really rock out in my car to this beat.

12.) One -Glee Cast

-Epic U2 song turned duet. I love it. There voices sound so good doing this song.

13.) This Afternoon -Nickelback

-Nickelback is like Rob Thomas. All their songs are really great to me.

14.) Find Your Love -Drake

-This is still pretty new to me, but I liked Drake in the past.

15.) Eenie Meenie -Sean Kingston ft. Justin Beiber

-I'm not sure I actually like this song lol

16.) Just Say Yes -Snow Patrol

I loveeeee Snow Patrol and this song makes me want to blare it with the windows down. Snow Patrol never really screams riding with the windows down, but it has great lyrics and a sort of techno beat to it. Love this song.
"I'm running out of ways to make you see I want you to stay here beside me. I won't be ok and I won't pretend I am, so just tell me today and take my hand. Please take my hand"
17.) California Gurls -Katy Perry
- I like Katy Perry and this is a good fun summer song :) Is it me or does Katy Perry not look at all like she sounds?

18.) Airplanes -B.o.B

-I'm beginning to really like B.o.B and I like the sound to this song. I think the lyrics are kind of silly, but I never listen to rap for lyrics.

19.) Just Breathe -Pearl Jam
-If you haven't heard this, download it. I can't explain to you the awesomeness of the lead singer Eddie Vedder's voice. I promise you haven't heard anything like it.
"Did I say that I need you? Oh, did I say that I want you? Lord, if I didn't, I'm a fool, you see no one knows this more than me."

20.) All I Ever Wanted -Kelly Clarkson
-I really liked the intensity of this song on the radio, but now I already think it's kind of annoying.

K-E-N-P-O

I love Kenpo. The workout is basically an hour of imaginary fighting. You do a lot of punching and kicking. It's so much fun. I feel like I'm taking a defense class. They do each type of punch: straight, across, hook, and uppercut then mix them together. Then they add in some forward, side, and back kicks.

I think I enjoyed this workout too much. I for sure was imagining people I intensely dislike as I punched and kicked and it was great. I'm thinking I should take a kick-box class at the FSU gym. Maybe when I get more balance.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day but I think I'm going to do cardio on rest days.

Work-out aside, summer in Tallahassee isn't shaping up too well. I'm only taking two classes, work isn't really scheduling me, and I haven't been to the crisis hotline in almost a month. I feel like I have so much free time and it's depressing me. I miss home so much. I can't wait to graduate.

Who will come visit me?
